HRDC Austin A35 Racer

I am currently building an Austin A35 race car to enter the 2016 HRDC Academy.

The HRDC Academy is an initiative by the HRDC to introduce potential competitors to mainstream historic racing via an easily accessible route.

They have races at Goodwood and the Donington Historic meeting, as well as at many other circuits around theUK.

Austin Build Timelapse – Part 1

The first stage of the build was to strip out the interior, clean up the floor plates, remove the engine, axels, differential, suspension and fuel tank, before replacing them with new HRDC approved parts.

Caterham Graduates

In 2015 I raced in the Caterham Graduates Sigma class at Donington, Castle Combe and Thruxton.

The Sigma Graduate class is for cars of 2008-2013 Caterham Academy specification. The only significant permitted changes are a swap to stickier Yokohama A048R tyres, an aeroscreen in place of the windscreen and an optional rear anti-roll bar. The cars have DeDion rear suspension. Cars have a 1600cc Ford Sigma engine producing around 120bhp.

Thruxton Race 2 – Highlights

Racing on the fastest circuit in the UK has to be one of the greatest feelings and the art of slip-streaming is essential.
